EVC is pleased to confirm that the two remaining substantive conditions for the
completion of the INEOS transaction have now been met and therefore the
subscription period will open on Monday 12 March. The agreements relating to
EVC revised borrowing facilities have now been received.

Following the approval of the stock exchange authorities, the prospectus
offering existing EVC shareholders the opportunity to subscribe for new EVC
shares at Euro 4 per share will be published tomorrow 9 March. The offer will
remain open to shareholders for five working days, until 3.00 p.m. on Friday 16
March.

A notice including details on the process which shareholders wishing to
subscribe should follow in The Netherlands tomorrow.

Given timing of this equity injection, EVC has decided to delay the publication
of its 2000 financial results until Thirsday 5 April 2001.
