Begrotingstekort eurozone nipt onder Maastrichtnorm

Het begrotingstekort van de eurozone is in 2013 uitgekomen op 2,9 procent. Dit maakte Eurostat, het Europese bureau voor de statistiek, dinsdag bekend.
De zogenoemde Maastrichtnorm bepaalt dat het begrotingstekort maximaal 3,0 procent van het bruto binnenlands product mag bedragen.
In 2012 stond het tekort nog op 3,6 procent van het bbp.
De overheidsschuld steeg daarentegen wel, van 89,0 procent eind 2012 naar 90,9 procent ultimo 2013.
